You type what to show, Reel does the clicking. I designed it end to end, from positioning to every screen, then built it. Just me and Claude 🌚

Senior Product Designer · Lagos, Nigeria
Six years designing fintech, field-ops and platform products, from interviews on job sites with zero bars to design systems with enough documentation to pass as law in a small country. These days I build what I design too, so real users get it in days and nothing gets lost in the handoff.
Then I build them, because it's not all in the Figma file 😒
✦ Tidy grouped these: de·sign·er who builds (noun)
Leaves the office.
Talks to the people who actually use the thing, even when that means a job site with zero bars.
Designs the error states.
Then meets the ones no Figma file could have shown him, and designs those too.
Names things properly.
surface/primary, not #FFFFFF. Engineers notice. So does future him.
Puts it in front of real users.
Because watching someone click submit three times teaches more than fifty frames.

“Great workshop. Now who’s sorting 200 sticky notes?” Roomy is a whiteboard with live cursors, offline support and Tidy, an AI that sorts the wall of stickies so nobody stays back after the workshop.
Every screen designed in Figma first. Now building the canvas engine from scratch, no whiteboard SDK. This page is basically its fan art.

Redesigned the web app businesses use to run attendance and pay thousands of field workers to mobile money.
Every risk shows up before you press pay.

Redesigned the supervisor app that clocks in field crews, works without signal, and now recognises faces.
Offline by default. Never guesses who someone is.

I'm a very visual person. Here's some evidence.

the tender heart of a designer, and the cold, pragmatic eye of the other guys 🌚
same person, different cursor
I'm John, a senior product designer in Lagos. For six years I've designed products for people with real constraints: patchy networks, payday deadlines, and founders who needed it yesterday.
I'm happiest when a product meets real users and survives. That's where most of the learning lives, not in the wireframes. Lately I build what I design too, and I care about the design side more than ever, because now I live with every decision all the way to the browser.
Fewer things get lost in the handoff. Mostly because the handoff is me talking to myself 🫠
Currently:
opening a pull request, unsure which hat I'm wearing.
Lagos, right now

Bring the messy version. I'll bring Figma and a code editor.
